Why I Rent The Runway

I am a fashionista. However, I’m a fashionista who lives in a condo in the District of Columbia with minimal closet space. I turned my second bedroom into a closet because the storage space in my home is extremely limited.

Even with the added closet space, it still isn’t massive and, as a homeowner (unmarried boss lady!), I am on a budget.

Enter Rent the Runway— a comprehensive catalog of designer fashion at your fingertips! Picture Alicia Silverstone’s character Cher in the 1995 hit movie, Clueless, flipping through her digital closet to build her outfit— this is Rent the Runway.

Their interface is extremely easy to use. They offer plans starting at just $69 for your first month with cancellation available at anytime.

Select a plan, choose your pieces, typical arrival time is anywhere from 24 to 48 hours, garments arrived cleaned and ready-to-wear. Just one of the membership perks I enjoy is not having to launder the pieces before returning. Simply throw them back in the bag, attach the pre-paid return Fed Ex label, drop off at any Fed Ex authorized location, REPEAT.

Additional RTR membership perks I enjoy include:

  • Swift swap system that allows me to refresh my wardrobe weekly.

  • No laundry.

  • The option to purchase pieces anytime with my membership discount. Recently picked up two designer dresses on deep discount at under $30 for each dress!

  • I ALWAYS LOOK PROFESSIONAL. As a Celebrity Hair and Makeup Artist working with high-profile public figures, it is important for me to look fresh and put together— Rent the Runway allows me to do this with ease.

  • Sustainable fashion and a closet space-saver.

In the fall of 2020, I was selected to be a RTR Ambassador where I get to flood my Instagram with rented runway fashion. I also get to offer my followers a special discount code. My code RTRFAM55798EF provides 40% off 2 months of RTR’s 8 and 16 item plans.
